Accueil très chaleureux Catherine et Yvan sont des personnes charmantes et a l'écoute de leurs hôtes. La maison est parfaite il ne manque rien et superbe terrain. Si besoin je recommanderais ce gite a mes amis. Si nous revenons dans la région nous ne manquerons pas de retourner chez Catherine et Yvan.

Perfect little bit of paradise

My husband and I spent a week at Catherine and Ivan's gite. It was really a perfect vacation. The cottage is spotlessly clean, well-equipped, cool in summer (when it was very hot outside), with lots of light, a good kitchen, a shower with one of those lovely rain heads, plenty of towels, and excellent wi-fi. There's a little patio out front with a view to the beautiful garden Ivan keeps. Almost every evening we made dinner (from provisions bought at the amazing Tuesday market in Le Bugue or in town at the intermarche), sat outside to eat and watch the birds while the sun went down over the trees. It was heavenly. Furthermore, Catherine is an incredible host. She called and made dinner reservations for us, gave us excellent directions and tips (don't miss the little restaurant in St. Leon sur Vezere), answered our innumberable questions thoughtfully, patiently and in beautiful English, and was available whenever we needed anything. Ivan who we spoke with just a little because our French is terrible seemed so nice as well. And I fell in love with their little bichon, too. Finally, for exploring the Dordogne, Le Bugue is an excellent base. It's got tourists, but it doesn't seem as overrun as other larger towns in the vicinty, and it's really within 20-45 minutes of most sites. The furthest we ventured was the Pech Merle cave in Lot which was still less than two hours away along small roads with beautiful scenery. If we're back in the Dordogne, we'll stay here again! I recommend it unequivocally. Merci beaucoup, Catherine & Ivan!

5 étoiles : - Une pour la météo séduisante et complice qui nous a mis du soleil dans tous les paysages. - Une pour cette superbe gastronomie qui nous a mis "plein de soleil dans nos assiettes" - Une pour ces richesses touristiques qui iront nourrir de soleil nos albums de souvenirs. - Une pour ce "pied à terre" chaleureusement ensoleillé. - Et une pour Catherine et Ivan, discrets, mais avec une sollicitude omniprésente qui nous ont mis du soleil là où il n'y en avait pas encore (?). Nous partons le coeur lourd ! de soleil et d'une "terrible" envie d'y revenir.

Chanter dans le Périgord

Aller chanter dans le Périgord avec notre chorale, nous en parlons depuis des mois. Le 31 Mai, notre concert fut un moment magique dans la magnifique abbaye de Cadouin. Au Bugue, y trouver le paradis pendant 10 jours, ce fut pour nous un réel bonheur ! Le gîte et le jardin sont merveilleux ; le site superbe et bucolique. Mais que dire de Catherine et Ivan ? tous les superlatifs conviennent pour qualifier votre accueil, votre gentillesse, votre disponibilité et la spontanéité à vous raconter. Pour nous, nous emportons de grands souvenirs et de bons moments de partage. De toute évidence, une excellente adresse à donner ! Merci pour tout ! Bel été à vous deux ! Cette location est un vrai hâvre de paix : la maison, le parc, les oiseaux ... et sur le plan pratique tout est bien organisé pour vous faciliter la vie, belle cuisine (rien ne manque), belles chambres avec leur coin salon, lecture à disposition,musique, wifi et toutes les indications nécessaires pour visiter la région. De plus, les propriétaires sont totalement à votre disposition et vous ouvrent ... leur cœur ! Merci Catherine.

We spent a delightful week in Catherine and Ivan's lovely gite - they made us very welcome. Organic vegetables from Ivan's vegetable plot were a real treat and Catherine's excellent english meant that she could give us lots of help with the best places to visit. We also fell in love with Casanova their little bichon. The decor of the house is typically french, with lots of space and a well equipped kitchen, all with access onto the huge garden which you share with the owners. The weather wasn't too brilliant which meant we weren't able to take advantage of the bbq area unfortunately, but the house's location on the edge of the town means that you have peace and quiet, but only have to walk 50m to get to all the town centre facilities. The Tuesday market which takes over the town is a definite must see. We did lots of walking and cycling (despite the hilly nature of the Dordogne!) and enjoyed discovering local restaurants, such as the Auberge Médievale in Audrix which does a brilliant lunch time menu for 14€. Le Bugue itself has several reasonable restaurants and is well placed for visiting Les Eyzies, Limeuil (a beautiful village at the confluence of the Vezere and Dordogne rivers), Beynac, Sarlat and many other sites. If you are looking for a warm welcome in a typical french town with easy access to lots of activities and places to visit, then look no further than this gite.

Das Haus war sehr gut eingerichtet mit hohem Wohlfühlfaktor.
Die Lage des Hauses zur Ortsmitte (Bäckerei, Bistro..) war sehr günstig.
Die Lage des Ortes für Erkundigungen der Umgebung im Perigord ist verkehrstechnisch sehr gut.
Der bekannte und große Markt dienstags in Le Bugue ist nur zwei Minuten zu Fuß entfernt.
Catherin & Ivan waren super gastfreundliche Gastgeber, stets hilfsbereit und mit ihren vielen Kennertips eine riesige Hilfe. Ein Aufenthalt bei ihnen kann nur wärmstens empfohlen werden.
